Freshman Orientation at NAHS's Cafeteria: Thursday, July 25th 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
 

Be A Better Bulldog is an orientation program for incoming freshmen at NAHS.  Students will be give the opportunity to meet new classmates, familiarize themselves with the building, review their schedules, find their lockers, and get answers to their questions regarding the start of high school. 

Parents will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with NAHS at the Open House on 9/3/13.

    Students - Rosetta Stone Instructions
    How to get started with Rosetta Stone
    1. Login to Novell
    2. Username: first initial, middle initial, last name (for most students)
    3. Password: - If it’s your first time logging in: PW1213, then change it to his her 6-digit birth date
    4. Click on the Rosetta Stone Icon (will take a minute to load) or the Rosetta Stone Link @ Hzwo'd Homepage.
    5. Login to Rosetta Stone
    6. Username: Each student's username will be his/her ‘S’ number (including the “S”) from Inow
    7. Password: “school”
    8. To watch the Learner Orientation video:
    9. Click on “First Time Users”
    10. Click on “Learner Orientation”
    11. To begin lessons:
    12. Click “Launch Rosetta Stone”
      • Child=13 and under
      • Adult=14 and over
    13. Choose Level 1, then “continue”
    14. Click on bullet icon (next to the question mark icon) in top right corner and then unclick box that says “continue to next screen”
    15. Calibrate microphone (which you will do every time you use Rosetta Stone)
    16. Click Core Lesson 1 to begin
    17. To change to the next screen, you will need to click on the boxes at the bottom to continue on
    18. When finished, log out and clean all of headset, including head piece, ear pieces and microphone with a Lysol wipe
    Notes:

    You will need a headset with a microphone and a USB drive which you can buy from Radio Shack, Best Buy, Amazon.com, etc.

    The brand we are using at school is called Logitech

    • If you don’t have a microphone you cannot do the speaking sections
    • Headsets without a USB drive do not work as well for the speaking sections
